Taste Tweed Winter Food Festival – Week 3

The Taste Tweed – Winter Food Festival 2018 is already half way through – and everyone has been loving it!  The whole month of July is filled with tours, lunches, tastings, dinners, markets, picnics, cooking classes and fashion events … with the majority of these FREE to enter!  The ticketed events sell out quickly and can be easily booked online via the Taste Tweed website or via our App (‘Taste Tweed’ on iTunes or Google).

Weeks 1 and 2 of Taste Tweed have been very busy and the response from the community has been amazing!  Make sure you head to our Facebook page to check out our pics … and feel free to add yours from the events you’ve attended!

Friday 13th July

Unlucky for some … but not for Taste Tweed!  We have 2 awesome events lined up for today.

Get in just before Bastille Day and learn how to make crepes with a 4th generation Crepier from Brittany.   Meet Chef Damien Pigot at his French creperie and deli, 3Sea Café.  This is a once in a life time opportunity to learn from the best.  There are only a couple of spots left, so book your seat now!

Celebrate Black Friday by heading to Pickled Pig Brewery for a Mexican Fiesta!  There will be plenty of Mexican food to warm your winter taste buds with food by Mamacitas.  Join us at the Pickled Pig Brewery for a night of brews and baha.  Lots of music and family entertainment, and the brewers will be making some special Mexican brews for you to try!  Arriba!  FREE entry – join us from 5pm.  No bookings required, but more information is available here.

Saturday 14th July

The Season Lazy Long Lunch will be happening EVERY Saturday in July at 12:30pm at Peppers Salt Resort and Spa.  There will be a different ‘feature product’ each week, foraged from our local farmers and prepared by Executive Chef Craig ‘Robbo’ Robertson.  This week’s feature is Witches Falls Winery.  For just $50 per person, you will enjoy a welcome drink, local supplier tasting station and a mystery 6-course lunch served to share with your friends or family.  To book, call (02) 6674 7766 or email the team at [email protected]

Also happening EVERY Saturday in July is the Brothers Cafe Restaurant and Bar “Beef and Bottles” night.  The team will be pairing a series of delicious beef dishes with some of their beautiful wines.  Book today by calling (02) 6674 8499 or via their website.

ANDWe are super excited about our Signature Winter Wine Dinner being held on Saturday night at 6.30pm at Season Restaurant, Peppers Salt Resort and Spa.  You are invited to join us for a memorable evening hosted by Daniel Chaffey Hartwig from Chaffey Bros Wine Co.  Indulge in a 6-course Degustation Menu designed by the award-winning Season team, using the regions finest produce and matching wines.  Tickets are limited, and seats can be booked by calling (02) 6674 7777 or email [email protected]

Sunday 15th July

Join us for a fun Sunday lunch to celebrate Taste Tweed Winter Food Festival with a unique showcase of the best Tweed regional produce – featured in fresh, vibrant and exotic dishes from coastal Goa, India.  Chef Andy Melville will express his passion for fresh seafood, organic meats and locally sourced produce in all new dishes for our ‘Goa vs Tweed’ lunch at Bombay Cricketer’s Club.  Enjoy 4 delicious courses with sides for only $45 per person.  Book online and note ‘Goa vs Tweed’ with your reservation at https://bombaycricketersclub.com.au/.  Limited seats are available, so book early to avid disappointment.

Wednesday 18th July

This one is sure to warm your winter woes … our friends at Brothers Café, Restaurant and Bar will be holding “An Introduction to Whisky night” in conjunction with Taste Tweed Winter Food Festival and The Scottish Prince.  Let them take you on a journey of discovery of the origins of whisky and where it sits now on the world stage.  There will be cheese boards on arrival and will feature 6 whiskies for tasting.  This is a private event, so don’t waste time as seats are limited.  More information on this event and tickets can be booked via https://www.facebook.com/events/1771978639587512/
